Eiko spent a month packed with events in and around Jacob's Pillow and Pittsfield, MA in July 2017.
All month Eiko's and William Johnston's photos appeared in various places. A Body in Valparaiso, Chile was on view at The Brothership Building Window & Paul Graubard Studio Storefront, and A Body in Fukushima was on view at the Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield’s Public Library. From July 5 to 30 a photography exhibit of William Johnston’s images of Eiko Otake in A Body in Fukushima was on view at Doris Duke Theatre porch.
On July 18 & July 23, Eiko held Delicious Movement workshops for all people who were interested despite experience level or age. On July 21 Eiko will spoke for a PillowTalk at Blake’s Barn at Jacob's Pillow. The following day, Jacob's Pillow presented A Body at the Pillow. The one-day-only event brought Eiko's movement onto the historic grounds of Jacob's Pillow and outside its traditional theaters.
Eiko danced in two Pillow Pop-Up Performances: one on July 17 at Pittsfield's Public Library followed by a presentation of her work A Body in Fukushima and another on July 20 outdoors on North Street.
